Today kicked off the 1st Annual Let Live Animal Rights Conference at

Portland
State
University.  The radical animal rights conference, hosted by
Portland’s own Food Fight market, brought animal and environmental advocate from around the country to conduct panels and workshops geared at breeding a new generation of social activist.  The topics range from how to handle the police, to how to use the internet for social justice issues, to the ethics of using direct action and the successes of clandestine groups like the Animal Liberation Front.  I was there filming, and sat down to interview Peter Young (Former Animal Liberation Front prisoner who served his time for mink releases from fur farms in the Midwest.), Shannon Keith (Animal rights attorney who represented members of Stop Huntington Animal Cruelty, and director of Behind the Mask.), and Will Potter (A journalist who runs Greenisthenewred.com, a website that chronicles all the fear surrounding the newly invented term “eco-terror.”)
